Cave Terrace Hotel

Rooms carved into the rock, and a terrace facing the valley where the balloons rise.

The hotel is cut into a cliff, the rooms are caves in the literal sense, and the terrace faces east across the valley the balloons rise out of every clear morning.

The two moments

A wedding here has two of them, and they are twelve hours apart.

The first is the ceremony at golden hour. The valley turns orange, the rock catches it, and the terrace is above everything. The second is the following morning at around 05:45, when between eighty and a hundred and fifty balloons come up out of the valley floor in front of you. You can watch that from the terrace with coffee, or from inside one of them with a photographer. See what a Cappadocia elopement involves.

What to know before you book

Steps cut into rock, worn smooth by several centuries of use. This hotel is beautiful and it is not accessible.

The rock keeps the rooms at a constant temperature, which is why it is one of very few venues in Türkiye that works in January as well as June. Winter weddings here are genuinely good and almost nobody books them.

Forty is the terrace limit for a seated dinner and it is a hard one. Above that, Cappadocia is not your region.

Who it suits

Two to forty guests. Mostly Elopement and Symbolic Ceremony, occasionally a small Intimate. The Valley Viewpoint platform nearby is the alternative if you want the ceremony outdoors with nothing built around it.
