Symbolic Ceremony
For couples who signed the paperwork at home and want the day itself here. No documents required.
You handle the legal marriage in your own country (usually a ten-minute appointment at a register office with two witnesses and no ceremony), and we produce the day that actually matters. This is what most of our couples do, and it removes every document requirement on the Turkish side.
Why seven in ten couples choose this
Because the legal route costs four to eight weeks of document handling and buys you nothing you would notice on the day.
To marry legally in Türkiye you need a certificate of no impediment from your own country, an apostilled birth certificate, sworn Turkish translations of both, a health report obtained here, and an appointment at a registry office. It works and it is recognised at home. It is also administrative work with a deadline attached, and every document in it has an expiry date.
The symbolic route has none of that. A celebrant, vows, rings, readings, a register your guests sign for the photograph. Nobody at the wedding can tell the difference, and neither can the pictures. The full comparison is in legal or symbolic: which ceremony do you actually need.
When the legal route is worth it
Two situations. If the marriage needs to be registered in Türkiye for residency or property reasons, and if one of you is a Turkish citizen. Otherwise, sign at home.
What this package includes
The ceremony itself: celebrant, sound, set-up, florals, and a photographer for four hours. It is deliberately narrow, because most couples add it to a venue and a dinner they have chosen separately rather than buying it as a complete day.
If you want the whole day rather than the ceremony, look at Intimate or Signature instead. Both include a symbolic ceremony as standard.
Where it works
Everywhere, and particularly at the venues that cannot host a registrar: private villas, boats and the valley platform in Cappadocia. Those three between them account for most of the symbolic ceremonies we produce.

Questions about the Symbolic Ceremony package
Do our guests know it is symbolic?
Only if you tell them. A symbolic ceremony has a celebrant, vows, rings, readings and a register to sign. It looks exactly like a wedding because in every way that matters on the day, it is one. What it does not do is create the legal marriage — you did that at home.
Do we need any documents at all?
None. No apostille, no sworn translation, no health report, no registry appointment. That is the entire point of this route and it is why most of our couples take it.
Can we do the legal part after the ceremony instead of before?
Yes, and plenty of couples do. The order does not matter to anyone except you. Some prefer to sign at home first so they arrive married; others prefer the Turkish ceremony to come first.
Will our photographs show it is not a legal wedding?
No. There is a register, there are signatures, there are witnesses. The document being signed is a keepsake rather than a legal instrument, and it photographs identically.
