Villa Lykia

This is the villa most couples have in mind when they say they want a villa wedding in Kalkan, and it is worth understanding what that actually means before you book one.

You take the property for a week. Twelve people sleep in it, usually parents, siblings and the couple. Everyone else stays in apartments and small hotels a few minutes' walk away, which we block under your name. The wedding happens on the main terrace on the third or fourth evening, so that by the time it arrives the guest list has already spent three days together.

The terrace

Six bedrooms, an infinity pool, and a terrace that stops at a low wall and then drops away to open Mediterranean. Seated dinner for forty-five at long tables, ceremony at the far end with nothing behind it but water.

The shade line matters. From mid-September the terrace goes into shadow around five, which is earlier than couples expect and changes where the ceremony should sit. We check the sun angle against your specific date before confirming a time.

What to know before you book

Access is a steep private drive. Fine for cars and minibuses, not for a coach. Guests with mobility difficulties should be told before they book flights, not after.

Catering is brought in. There is no hotel kitchen. That is an advantage as often as not, because the menu is built for you rather than pulled from a banqueting file, but it does mean the food is one more thing to taste and approve rather than a hotel default.

Who it suits
