Antalya is where Türkiye does scale well. If your guest list runs past sixty and you would rather not spend the weekend moving people between hotels, this is the region that solves the problem before it starts.

Why couples choose Antalya

The beachfront resorts along Belek, Lara and Side are built for groups. A single property will hold the ceremony on a lawn above the sand, the drinks reception on a terrace, the dinner in a ballroom or a garden, and every guest who came, in rooms booked under your name at a group rate. Nobody drives anywhere. Nobody gets lost. The grandparents can go to bed at ten and the rest can carry on until the music curfew.

That single fact (one building, one guest list) is what makes a hundred-person wedding abroad feel calm rather than logistical. It is also why almost every large wedding we produce ends up here rather than on the villa coast around Kalkan, which is beautiful and completely unsuited to that number of people.

Who Antalya is built for

• German and Turkish-German families. Antalya has the densest direct-flight network in the country from German-speaking Europe, and the resorts are used to bilingual weekends with a henna night on the Friday.
• Indian and Pakistani celebrations. Belek is the only region with several properties that can run a mehendi, a sangeet and a reception across three days without moving anyone, with separate halal and vegetarian kitchens as standard. That is what the Grand & Multi-Day package is built around.
• Anyone bringing children. Direct flights, short transfers, kids' clubs and a beach are a combination the rest of the coast cannot match.

Antalya Airport and the transfer times

Antalya Airport takes direct flights from more than forty European cities, and in summer that number climbs. The transfer to Belek is about forty minutes, Lara is fifteen, Side is closer to an hour. Short transfers matter more than they sound: a coach of guests who have already flown three hours will forgive a lot, but not a two-hour drive at the end of it.

If a large share of your guest list is travelling from the UK or Ireland, compare this with Fethiye and Kalkan via Dalaman before deciding. The flights are often cheaper, though the venues are smaller.

The months that work, and what August does

May, June, September and early October. July and August are reliably hot enough that an afternoon outdoor ceremony is genuinely uncomfortable for guests in suits, and we will talk you out of one. An evening reception in August works beautifully; the heat drops after eight and nobody wants to go inside.

Late September is the quiet favourite. Sea temperature is still at its highest, the light has softened, and the last week falls outside most northern European school holidays, which changes what your guests pay for flights. There is more on this in the best month to get married in Türkiye.

The three resorts we use most

The three properties we work with most are the Belek Garden Resort for the straightforward large wedding, Lara Beach Terrace when the ceremony has to be at the waterline, and Side Ancient Garden for couples who want Roman columns and olive trees instead of a ballroom. Most Antalya venues have an indoor alternative of equal quality, which is not true everywhere on the coast. For a region where rain is unlikely but a hundred people cannot suddenly be moved, that matters.

Documents: Antalya changes nothing

Nothing about Antalya changes the legal picture. You either marry legally in front of a Turkish registrar, which needs an apostilled document set from your own country, or you sign the register at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here. If you are still deciding

If your guest list is over ninety, start here and only look elsewhere if someone in the couple has a strong attachment to another part of the country. If it is under forty, Antalya will work but you will be paying for scale you do not need. Çeşme or Kaş will give you a better day. And whatever the number, book the resort before you book anything else: in this region the venue decides the shape of the weekend.
