A German-Turkish wedding with guests flying in from Stuttgart, Rotterdam and Ankara. Henna night on the Friday, ceremony on the beach lawn on the Saturday, brunch for everyone on the Sunday before the airport runs began.

The entire guest list stayed in the same resort, which is the only reason a 148-person weekend can feel relaxed. That is the argument for Antalya in a sentence.

The henna night

Half the guest list had been to one before and half had never heard of it. We ran a short explanation in German before the ceremony started (what the coin means, why the veil is red, what happens when the song starts), and it turned a spectacle into something the whole room was part of. There is more on this in the henna night explained.

Logistics

Three arrival waves on the Friday, all met at Antalya Airport, all at the hotel within forty minutes. Nobody hired a car for three days. The resort held rooms under Lena and Mert's names at a group rate and guests booked directly.

What we would change

Nothing. This is the shape we recommend for any large guest list and it worked exactly as designed.

“Wir hatten Gäste aus drei Ländern und eine sehr lange Liste. Alles war organisiert, bevor wir überhaupt gefragt haben.”
