A platform on the rim of the valley, and nothing else. No building, no bar, no room to move to. That is the entire proposition and for the right couple it is the best ceremony site in the country.

How it works

You arrive forty minutes before sunrise or ninety minutes before sunset. The celebrant, the sound and the florals are carried in and carried out. The ceremony runs twenty-five minutes. Then there are photographs while the light does what it does, and then everybody drives to dinner somewhere with a kitchen.

That last part is the thing couples miss. This is a ceremony venue, not a wedding venue. Dinner happens at Cave Terrace Hotel or a restaurant in Göreme, and it needs to be booked as a separate thing.

What to know before you book

There is no power. Sound runs on battery, which is fine for a celebrant and a guitar and not fine for a band.

Sunrise slots in June mean a 04:30 start. Couples agree to this enthusiastically in February and feel differently in June. It is worth it; be honest with your guests about it.

The platform is public land with a permit for private use during your slot. Occasionally a photographer with a different couple appears at the far end. It has never ruined a ceremony and it is not impossible.

Who it suits

Two to thirty guests, almost always Elopement. This is Cappadocia at its most stripped-back.
