Alaçatı Courtyard

A courtyard in Alaçatı, olive trees, and almost no decoration because the venue did not need any. Twenty-eight guests, one long table, and a French-Turkish menu the couple spent a whole afternoon tasting in February.

The tasting

This is the detail Marie mentions whenever anyone asks her about the wedding. Four months before the date they flew in for two days, walked the village, and spent an afternoon in the kitchen with the chef arguing pleasantly about whether the lamb should be served with the Turkish or the French accompaniment. It ended up as both.

If you can travel for a tasting, do. If you cannot, we send photographs and notes and run it on a call. It works, and it is not the same.

Why Alaçatı

They looked at Bodrum and found it too polished. Alaçatı was the answer, and the whole weekend happened on foot: welcome dinner in the village, wedding in the courtyard, fish lunch by the water on the Sunday. Nobody arranged a single transfer.

“The menu tasting in February convinced us. On the day the food was better than the tasting, which never happens.”
