Ölüdeniz Lagoon Hotel
Terrace ceremony with the lagoon below and paragliders coming down behind the photographs.
The lagoon at Ölüdeniz is a protected nature park, which means nobody holds a wedding on it. What you can do is stand above it, and this hotel is built to do exactly that.
The view
From the ceremony terrace the whole curve of the lagoon is in frame: the sand spit, the turquoise shallow water, the darker Mediterranean beyond it, and Babadağ rising behind. It is a better photograph than you get from the beach itself, where you can only see a fraction of it.
Paragliders launch from the mountain all afternoon and land on the beach below. They will be in your pictures. Most couples come to love this; a few would rather they were not there, and an evening ceremony after the last landing solves it.
What to know before you book
Rooms on site hold most of a hundred-and-fifty-guest list, which is the practical reason this venue works for a Signature wedding. See the Fethiye page for why the region suits British guest lists in particular.
The road up from Fethiye climbs and then drops steeply into Ölüdeniz. Coaches handle it without difficulty. A guest who dislikes mountain roads will notice, so put it in the guest information.
The function room indoors is the rain plan and it is competent rather than beautiful. In May, June and September rain on a given day is unlikely, but the plan is written into your run sheet regardless.
Who it suits
Thirty to a hundred and fifty guests. This is the most-booked venue in the region and the one we suggest first for a straightforward large wedding from the UK or Ireland. If you want the opposite of a view, Fethiye Olive Farm is fifteen minutes inland.
